SEATTLE – Seattle-centered Ezell’s Famous Rooster is partnering with DoorDash to present 20 grants to Black-owned companies and organizations in the Pacific Northwest.
Associates of the franchise said they desired to give back again to the local community that aided them dwell up to the company’s name.
“The group has usually embraced us and supported us and it just feels great. Any opportunity to give again and partner with the community is just a great sensation,” said Lewis Rudd, president, CEO and co-founder of Ezell’s.
Ezell’s Popular Rooster wasn’t normally as famed as it is now across the location. In 1984, it all begun from humble beginnings at its primary location in Seattle’s Central District.

“Not like others in the field, we ended up doing very well. We have been in fact thriving. So instead than us applying the funds to do marketing stuff to boost Ezell’s, I asked [DoorDash] if we could make the most of these money to help guidance other enterprises in the local community that were being not lucky adequate to have accessibility to funds,” explained Rudd.
With this grant opportunity, Rudd claimed he hopes it will assist community Black companies fund their operations, sustainability, expansion and results. He inspired some others to also guidance and make investments in Black entrepreneurship.
